1. What Zcash Wallet is

Zcash Wallet is a non-custodial software wallet that lets you generate keys, view balances, and send and receive Zcash (ZEC) on the Zcash network. The App runs entirely on your device. We do not hold, store, transmit, or have access to your funds, seed phrase, private keys, or viewing keys at any time.

Zcash Wallet is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Electric Coin Company, the Zcash Foundation, or Apple Inc.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and legally permitted to use cryptocurrency software where you live. You are solely responsible for complying with all laws that apply to you, including tax and reporting obligations.

3. Your responsibilities

• Seed phrase and keys. Your recovery phrase is the only way to restore your wallet. We cannot recover it for you. If you lose it, your funds are permanently inaccessible. If someone else obtains it, they can spend your funds.
• Device security. Keep your device updated, protected by a passcode and biometrics, and free of malware. Do not use the App on jailbroken devices.
• Transactions. Blockchain transactions are irreversible. Verify every address and amount before sending. We cannot cancel, reverse, or refund a transaction.
• Lawful use. You will not use the App for any unlawful purpose, including money laundering, financing of terrorism, fraud, or evasion of sanctions.

4. Network services

To read the blockchain, the App connects to “lightwalletd” servers. By default it uses servers we operate or select; you may configure your own server in Settings. Third-party servers are outside our control and we make no guarantees about their availability, accuracy, or privacy practices. Network fees are set by the Zcash protocol, not by us.

5. License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the Apple App Store Terms of Service. Portions of the App are released under open-source licenses; those licenses govern the corresponding source code.

6. No financial advice

Nothing in the App or on this website is investment, legal, tax, or financial advice. ZEC and other digital assets are volatile and may lose value. You alone are responsible for your decisions.

7. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT THE ZCASH NETWORK WILL FUNCTION AS EXPECTED.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR CONTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DIGITAL ASSETS, PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (USD 100).

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the App or your violation of these Terms.

10. Apple-specific terms

These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App and is not responsible for any product warranty, claim, or intellectual-property investigation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

11. Changes and termination

We may update the App or these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced in the App or on this website; continued use after changes means you accept them. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it — your keys remain yours and can be restored in any compatible wallet using your seed phrase.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the App publisher is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
